Who I am

Jenkins Digital is a web design and hosting business in Canberra, ACT, run by James Jenkins. I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can contact me about privacy at hello@jenkins.digital.

What I collect

• Quote and contact requests. The details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, website address and the choices you make in the quote builder.
• Client Hub accounts. Your name, email address and billing details when you buy hosting, care or a domain. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and I never see your full card number.
• Domain registrations. The registrant details each registry requires, including an ABN or ACN for .au domains. Some of these can appear in public domain lookup (WHOIS) services, as registry rules allow.
• Emails and messages you send me.
• Technical information. Like most websites, the server logs details such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. It’s used to keep the site secure and working.
• Your customers’ information. Sites I host or look after may hold personal information about your own customers. I only access it as needed to provide the service, and you remain responsible for it.

How I use it

• to reply to enquiries and prepare quotes;
• to provide, bill and support the services you’ve ordered;
• to register and manage domain names;
• to keep this site and my services secure;
• to meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax records.

I won’t send you marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them, and you can opt out at any time. I don’t sell or rent personal information.

Who I share it with

Only the service providers that help me deliver my services:

• WPMU DEV, which provides the hosting platform, Client Hub and website tools I use;
• Stripe, to process payments;
• domain registrars and registries, such as auDA for .au domains, to register and manage domains;
• my email provider, to send and receive email.

I may also disclose information where the law requires it.

This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address. Sites I link to, such as Trustpilot, have their own privacy policies.

Information stored overseas

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. I take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it, and only share what they need. Websites on my hosting plans are hosted on Australian servers in Sydney or Melbourne.

Storage and security

Information is stored securely, and access is limited to what’s needed to provide my services. I keep it only as long as I need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to correct it, by emailing hello@jenkins.digital. I’ll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you’re worried about how your information has been handled, email me first and I’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (opens in a new tab).

Changes to this policy

I’ll update this policy when my practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Cookies are covered in the Cookies policy.
